Jake
The one who never stops grinning.
Jake plays cards like he does everything else: loud, confident, and having the time of his life. He’s the guy at the table who makes everyone laugh, who turns a bad hand into a story, who buys a round when he wins and buys a round when he loses. You didn’t expect the night to end up here, but Jake has a way of making everything feel like the obvious next step.
He keeps the cap on. He’ll joke about it. The grin doesn’t stop, but somewhere between the second drink and the walk home it gets softer, less performed. He’s enthusiastic in a way that could be overwhelming if it weren’t so genuinely cheerful. He asks what you want like it’s the most natural question in the world, because to him it is.
Being with Jake is fun. Actually fun. He laughs at the wrong moment and it makes everything better. He’s not trying to be smooth. He’s trying to be present, and he is, completely. The energy is playful and physical and surprisingly tender when it needs to be.
